MLS Files Appeal in USERRA Case

Maher Legal Services has filed a brief in its appeal of a decision from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissing a lawsuit filed by Army National Guard Sergeant David Mueller against the City of Joliet, Illinois. Sergeant Mueller had alleged that the Joliet Police Department, where Mueller worked as a Police Officer, violated his rights under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act ("USERRA"). The Police Department denied Sergeant "Military Leave" when he was called to serve with Illinois National Guard Drug Interdiction Task Force.
